Understanding Your Behaviour to Transform Your Business and Your Life

Updated: Apr 21

What's actually happening within you ~ And why its affecting your Money, your relationship, your Businesses, and your Execution.

There comes a point in your growth where surface-level answers stop working. You’ve read the strategies. You’ve set the goals. You’ve tried to stay consistent. And yet something keeps pulling you back silently. Not dramatically but consistently enough that you can feel it: Scripture already speaks to this tension:

“For I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to do—this I keep on doing.” — Romans 7:19
  • The hesitation before you move

  • The inconsistency you can’t explain

  • The patterns that keep repeating

  • The quiet sense that you’re capable of more but not fully accessing it

This is where the real work begins because what’s happening within you is not random. It is patterned. It is learned. And it is shaping your entire life.

There are 2 versions of you the world sees. There is a version of you the world sees,

  1. There is the version of you the world sees: (the visible you) Your effort -Your plans -Your discipline -Your ambition

  2. And then there is the version of you that quietly runs everything: (the invinsible you)-Your emotional triggers -Your behaviour patterns -Your fear responses -Your identity

“As a man thinks in his heart, so is he.” — Proverbs 23:7

Your life is not built from what you say you want. It is built from what is rooted within you. If these two are aligned, life flows. If they are not, you experience friction. And most people try to fix that friction externally when it is being created internally.

The Patterns You’re Living, Not Choosing

Many of the things you call “decisions” are actually patterns. Cycles you’ve repeated long enough that they feel normal.

“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” — Romans 12:2

You are not making as many conscious decisions as you think. You are repeating patterns.

The way you handle pressure. The way you respond to opportunity. The way you deal with discomfort, money, visibility, or growth, these are not fresh decisions. They are familiar pathways your mind has learned to follow.

So when life feels repetitive, it’s not because nothing is changing, it’s because you are responding the same way. You default to it.

It is rehearsed and until you become aware of your patterns, you will keep calling repetition “bad luck” or “timing.”

Your Emotional Triggers Are Running the Show

There are moments that shift your entire state in seconds. ~ A delayed payment. A message left unanswered. Someone else moving ahead. A small rejection.

And suddenly:

  • Your confidence drops

  • Your clarity disappears

  • Your energy changes

Your reactions are revealing something deeper. The moments that shake you quickly are exposing what is not yet anchored within you.

“Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.” — Proverbs 4:23

Your life is flowing from your heart. This is not a discipline problem but an emotional regulation problem. When your emotions are unstable, your execution will be unstable, not because you’re incapable, but because something deeper is being activated. That’s not weakness.

That’s an unprocessed emotional trigger running your system and if your emotions are unstable, your execution will always be inconsistent.

Fear Doesn’t Stop You~It Redirects You

Fear is not always obvious and it rarely shows up as panic. Instead, it looks like:

  • Overthinking

  • Delaying action

  • Playing small

  • Avoiding visibility

  • Waiting until you feel “ready”

“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind.” — 2 Timothy 1:7

This means something important: Not every thought or reaction you have is truth.

Some of it is fear trying to lead you.

And if you don’t recognize it, you will build your life around it. Fear’s role is not to destroy your progress, It’s to protect the version of you that feels familiar, even if that version is struggling.

Identity vs Habits – The Root of Misalignment

You are trying to build a Life your identity has not caught up with, so you:

  • Set goals from vision

  • But act from your current self-concept

You are struggling with identity.

“Put off your old self and be renewed in the spirit of your mind; and put on the new self.” — Ephesians 4:22–24

There is a version of you you are trying to leave behind. And a version of you you are being called into. But if you keep operating from the old self, you will keep producing old results, and the gap between those two creates frustration because habits don’t come from what you want. They come from what you believe is normal for you. Until your identity shifts, your results will keep returning to what feels familiar.

habits don’t come from desire. They come from who you believe you are.

Avoidance and Inconsistency Are Not the Problem, they are symptoms.

Avoidance is not laziness. It’s usually: – Fear of failing publicly – Fear of not being enough – Fear of success changing your life. It is often a divided internal state.

“A double-minded man is unstable in all his ways.” — James 1:8

Inconsistency is not lack of discipline. It’s what happens when: – Your emotions fluctuate – Your identity is unstable – Your internal world is not anchored -Lack of alignment between who you are and what you’re trying to build

So pushing harder doesn’t fix it, Understanding it does. When part of you wants growth, and another part of you fears it, You will move forward and pull back. Again and again.

How This Is Affecting Your Life (Whether You See It or Not)

Because this is not just “inner work.” This is what is affecting:

1. Your Money

“For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” — Matthew 6:21

Money is not just external. It reveals your heart posture:

  • What you believe you deserve

  • What you fear losing

  • What you feel safe holding

If you feel unsafe with money, you will: -Undersell, -Overspend, -and you will Miss opportunities. Your income reflects your internal capacity to hold and manage it.

2. Your Business

“Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.” — Proverbs 16:3

Your business is not separate from you. You can have the best ideas but if you: – Avoid visibility – Fear rejection – Struggle with consistency, Your business will reflect that.

A business always mirrors the inner state of its owner. Your business cannot be sustained by strategy alone. It must be aligned internally and spiritually.

3. Your Relationships

“Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.” — Matthew 12:34

What is within you will eventually come out. Unprocessed triggers don’t stay hidden. Unhealed triggers will: – Create conflict – Cause withdrawal – Attract the same patterns in different people.

You don’t just experience relationships. You recreate your internal world through them.

4. Your Execution

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart…” — Colossians 3:23

Execution is not about discipline alone or working harder. It is wholeheartedness. It’s about:

Emotional regulation – Clarity of identity – Internal stability. And wholeheartedness comes from alignment within. When those are misaligned, even simple tasks feel heavy.

The Truth Most People Avoid and it changes everything,

You don’t need: – More motivation – More information – More strategies

“Search me, God, and know my heart, See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” — Psalm 139:23–24

You need awareness of what’s running you. Because if you don’t understand your inner world. You will:

– Build success you can’t sustain

– Recreate cycles you’ve outgrown

– Block the very life you’re praying for.

This chapter is not about fixing yourself, it’s about seeing clearly: Where am I reacting instead of choosing? What patterns keep repeating in my life? What am I avoiding and why? – Who am I being when no one is watching? “You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” — John 8:32

Because the moment you see it, You interrupt it. And that’s where real transformation begins, thats where the work is, by allowing yourself to be seen ~truthfully. Freedom doesn’t come from effort alone. It comes from truth. And truth begins within.
